We’ve got some fresh data on how mock exam scores predict our customers’ actual exam performance, and it’s stronger than we expected. We looked at how customers' first attempts at the final mock exam in their program went, and compared those scores with their actual reported licensing exam results.

We’re extremely proud of every examinee who has passed using our programs. And, this data reinforces how we categorize scores on those mock exams.
Across programs, we label mock exam scores of 80 and above as Passing. In our Law and Ethics Exam Prep programs, we label mock scores of 70-80 as Marginal. Since there is such a dropoff at 75 in the Clinical program, we’ve split the previous "Marginal" category in that program into High Marginal and Low Marginal.
If you’re not in one of those higher categories in your final mock, remember: Mock exam scores are predictive, but they aren’t destiny. Good or bad. A good mock exam score is not a guarantee of success on the real thing, and a poor mock score is not a guarantee of failure on the real thing. If you’re not where you want to be, carefully review results and rationales for areas of improvement. That's what exam prep is for -- to help you improve your readiness. (In fact, most folks fail their first mock exam. They get better through the program to get to the final-mock scores and pass rates above.)

Yes, we had some folks who scored below 70 on their first attempt at their final mock. And yes, those folks were comparatively less likely to pass the real thing. But “less likely” doesn’t mean they were doomed. In fact, most of them went on to pass – often by using what they learned on their mocks to get better. Our programs are built to give you the tools you can use to improve, no matter where you’re starting from.
